Voting in the early hours of the Columbia run-off elections ranged from on pace to slightly ahead of voter participation rates during the morning hours of the general election two weeks ago, based on a sampling of several area precincts.
The numbers are in keeping with expectations of area political consultants and experts.
Pennington precinct at Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church again was reporting some of the highest voting totals as 475 people had cast their ballots by 11:30 a.m.
At the Woodlands precinct in Woodlands Park, just over 330 people ? up from two weeks ago poll workers say ? had voted just before 11 a.m.
Several other precincts also reported numbers which workers said were slightly up from April 6.
