The S.C. Department of Corrections is searching for a minimum-security male inmate who walked away from his work assignment Monday in Columbia.
David Thurman Holmes, 26, was confirmed missing from Deno's restaurant on Saint Andrews Road in Columbia about 5:40 p.m.
Holmes, who is housed at Campbell Pre-Release Center in Columbia, is 5 feet, 11 inches tall; weighs about 165 pounds; has brown eyes and brown hair; and was last seen wearing a brown T-Shirt and blue jeans.
Between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., anyone with information is asked to contact Corrections' Fugitive Apprehension Unit at 1-877-349-2130. After 5 p.m., call 1-803-896-2258, the S.C. Law Enforcement Division at 1-803- 737-9000, or contact local law enforcement.
Holmes is serving a six year sentence for second-degree, non-violent burglary. He was convicted in Lexington County.
