Another illegal Lexington County methamphetamine lab - the ninth so far this year - has been raided, and a man has been charged with making the drug, authorities said Monday.
The arrest of Rusty Allen Murphy, 37, came Sunday when deputies went to serve Murphy with a family court warrant charging him with failing to make child support payments, Sheriff Jimmy Metts said.
Murphy was arrested at 5803 Fairview Road, where his girlfriend lives, Metts said.
Murphy, of 204 Scrimshaw Road, Batesburg-Leesville, was charged with manufacturing meth and unlawfully disposing of waste from a meth laboratory, Metts said. Meth waste is often poisonous and can contaminate a house and yard.
