Two buddies from Charlotte convinced music star Taylor Swift that she belongs with them - if only for an hour Monday - earning hugs with videos of good deeds.
Michael Wekall and Ryan Leander, both 22-year-old college seniors and Charlotte Christian High School graduates, have been on a four-month quest for hugs from their favorite celebrity, 19-year-old Swift.
They harnessed the power of social media, drawing thousands of supporters and producing videos of themselves and others doing good deeds to win the pop star's heart.
"I think I still have lipstick on my cheek," Leander said after his hug from Swift at Auburn University in Alabama.
After high school, Leander went to Charleston Southern University, then moved to Auburn to finish his final year of classes with his friend Wekall.
