Someone broke into and burned several vehicles at an Irmo apartment complex earlier this week and investigators are looking for leads.
Around 6 a.m. Monday, occupants of the Stony Creek Apartments on Berryhill Road called the Irmo Fire District because three cars were burning in their parking lot.
"One vehicle, you focus on a relationship, but three, belonging to people who don't know each other, is different," said Irmo Fire Marshal Jeff Allen, who is investigating the fires.
He said the arsonist stole stereo equipment from two of the vehicles and set fires in them with paper and other "ordinary combusibles" available in the area.
The vehicles were a Hyundai sedan, a Pontiac Bonneville and a Ford Tahoe sport utility vehicle.
