State Rep. Nikki Haley has quit her $110,000-a-year job at a hospital foundation in South Carolina.
Lexington Medical Center board member Lyman Whitehead said Tuesday that Haley's departure was announced at a board meeting last week.
Haley campaign spokesman Tim Pearson said the information from the hospital was correct and Haley left shortly after a successful fundraising event.
Lexington Medical spokeswoman Jennifer Wilson said Haley voluntarily left to run full time for governor and her last day was Friday.
The Lexington Republican is one of four seeking the GOP nomination in the June 8 primary.
