A Lexington County woman was killed over the weekend in Lexington, county Coroner Harry Harman said Sunday.
The woman, Marie Terens, 57, was driving a Mercury Cougar at a high rate of speed Saturday afternoon when she lost control, went off the road and struck several trees, Harman said.
She was not wearing a seat belt, and she was ejected from the car, he said. She was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy has been scheduled to determine cause of death.
Harman said the incident took place in the 1600 block of Laurel Street about 1:38 p.m. No other vehicles were involved.
