A Loris man died in what Myrtle Beach police said was a carjacking that ended in a vehicle crash along Mr. Joe White Avenue late Monday.
Alan Laquan Williams, 26, of Loris was pronounced dead at 7:55 p.m. Monday from a gunshot wound, Horry County Coroner Robert Edge said. An autopsy was performed Tuesday morning.
Police continued to investigate the incident that occurred about 7 p.m. Monday, Myrtle Beach police Lt. Doug Furlong said Tuesday morning.
A Myrtle Beach man told police a man pointed and shot a gun at him as he was leaving the 500 block of Eighth Avenue North on his mo-ped, according to a police report.
The 27-year-old man said he was driving through a parking lot in the area and when he looked to make sure traffic was clear he saw three men and one of them pointed what appeared to be a pistol at him, police said.
