The driver of the beach service truck that ran over a sunbather on Friday "just did not see him over the hood line," according to an accident report.
The sunbather, Erik Randall Rabon, was transported to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center after the incident. The severity of his injuries are unknown. The driver was at fault in the incident, according to the Myrtle Beach Police report.
Police did not comment on whether the driver would be charged in the incident.
The driver worked for Huggins Beach Service, a contract life guard service. He was making a U-turn on the beach when he stopped to look at the water, the states. He started again and heard a noise under his truck after completing the turn. He exited his truck and discovered he had run over Rabon.
Emergency crews waited for lifts to arrive to get the vehicle off the man. The man was saying he couldn't breathe, according to a witness.
