Murphy Holloway announced Wednesday morning that he is the next South Carolina mens basketball prospect to come home.
Holloway revealed that he will walk on at USC for one season and will enroll in August. He announced his intentions Wednesday at his former school, Dutch Fork High.
The 6-foot-7 forward, who was the SECs fifth-leading rebounder last season, would be eligible to go on scholarship for his final two years of eligibility, starting with the 2011-12 season.
Holloway must pay his own way because his former school, Mississippi, did not release him to USC. He will be able to go on scholarship for his final two years of eligibility.
The Irmo native had the option of going on scholarship immediately at some smaller in-state smaller schools. He is also giving up the option to apply for an NCAA hardship, which would have allowed him to play right away.
