Sri Lankans traveling through Malaysia will be able to do so without a special visa from July 1. However this will only apply to those holding tickets for connecting flights. India, Pakistan and Bangladesh will also benefit from this measure, which has been introduced in an attempt to increase visitors to Malaysia. Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhiyiddin Yassin said the Home Ministry had suggested some measures which would ensure that the new facility would not be abused. “We will discuss them with our local airline companies as we will need their cooperation for the offer to work,” he said.
