Continuous relief for flood victims

Sanitation equipment was handed over to the flood affected in the Ratnapura District under the patronage of Minister W.D.J. seneviratne. The value of the equipment handed over through the Disaster Management Centre was 700, 000 rupees.

Relief supplies were distributed in the Kalutara District under the patronage of Minister Kumara Welgama. Measures have been taken to deploy boats in areas where the flood waters have still not receded and to hold health clinics to prevent epidemics.

The flood affected at Wanatamulla in Borella were provided relief under the patronage of Parliamentarian Thilanga Sumathipala.

Dry rations were distributed among the flood victims in Elpitiya, Panagoda and Gankanda areas under the patronage of the peoples Bank.

A special health clinic was organised at the Gurukula Vidyalaya in Kelaniya. It was an effort of the Past Pupils Association of the school. The programme was launched under the guidance of Parliamentarian Malini Fonseka. Essential goods including water and food were distributed among the affected families in Gampaha, Katunayake, Thudellagama, Sirikotuwa, Hunumandiya, and Udugama with the mediation of the Sri Lanka Army.
