Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is to build four storied new wards complex for the Jaffna Hospital.
It will have all modern accessories. Hospital sources said it will cost of 2000 million rupees.
The authorities intend to accommodate a modern research laboratory, a modern operations theatre and an Intensive Care Unit in the new facility.
The four storied new facility will be built in the area where the 16th, 17th, 18th, 23rd and 26th wards are housed.
According to the Hospital sources, the wards will be vacated before 7th June to commence construction. The authorities intend to complete the new facility within two years.
