A block of Taylor Street was shut down for a short time this morning as authorities responded to a call about a suspicious bag.
Columbia police and fire department officials shut down Taylor Street from Pickens to Bull street after a bag was discovered in a medical office building at 1519 Taylor St.
“It turned out to be nothing,” interim fire chief Aubrey Jenkins said. “Someone just walked into the building and left (the bag) there.”
He said the street was to reopen at around 10:40 a.m.
