An elderly woman on a trip to the drug store stared down a would-be carjacker and kept her car.
The woman, an 81-year-old Charlotte resident who did not want to give her name, was approached by a teen with a gun around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Charlotte's News Channel 36 reported.
When the teen demanded her keys, the woman said she turned around, looked at him and said she would not. She also yelled to some other shoppers in the parking lot and told the attacker she was calling the police.
The teen ran away.
"The only way he was going to get my key was to take it away," the woman told the station. "If it's my time to go, I'm going, and if it's not, I'm not going. I just felt like yesterday it's not my time to go."
