The Ven. Hegoda Indasara thera, the Chief Sanghanayake of the North and East and his novice monks were murdered in this manner. They included several Samanera monks. Constructin work on a Buddhist Cultural centre commenced at the location where the Bhikku murder in Aranthalawa was carried out by the terrorists exactly 23 years ago.
