A 22-year-old is facing charges in the weekend armed robbery of a pizza delivery driver, Columbia police announced Monday.
The victim was trying to make a delivery in the 3400 block of Blossom Street just before midnight Saturday when a man with a handgun approached and ordered the delivery man to give him money, police said.
The suspect then fled in a van with an undisclosed amount of money but wrecked minutes later on Duncan Street, police said.
He left the scene but was later arrested after police stopped a taxi carrying a passenger matching the suspect's description, police said.
Ryland Ray Ellen is being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
