The President expressed these views at the Global Business Forum which was organized prior to the IIFA Awards ceremony. Today is the Second day of the Videocon IIFA Weekend.
IIFA opened last night with a fashion extravaganza at the BMICH. Sri Lankan models participated in the Fashion Show along with the Indian models.
The second day of the festival started with the launch of the Global Business Forum under the patronage of President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the Colombo Hilton. Views are being exchanged at the Forum, between the business communities of both countries for the improvement of economic relations between the two countries. More than 60 business delegates from India along with over 300 delegates from Sri Lanka participate in the Forum.
A film workshop was held at the Ceylon Intercontinental from 9.30 am to 1.30pm to promote cooperation between the cinema industries of the two countries.
Meanwhile a meeting between the President and the Indian film stars at the Temple Trees is also scheduled for today. The charity cricket match is in progress in Colomobo. Former and Current cricketers of Sri Lanka and Indian stars participate in the cricket match that will be held at the SSC Grounds. The Sri Lankan team is captained by Kumara Sangakkara while the Indian team will be led by Hrithik Roshan and Sunil Shetty.
