Spellmaster’s” four grand finalists have finally evolved after eight months of “tense” competition.
They are Sivapalan Chelvaniththilan (St. Patrick’s College Jaffna), Rukshala Illukkumbura (Gateway College Colombo), Rashidah Hassan (Good Shepherd Convent Kandy) and Sarith Bandara (Trinity College Kandy).

Originally there were 20 contestants, with 16 of those being eliminated.

Contestants had to go through three rounds of words in order to determine who would be eliminated. In the 1st round contestants had to select from a pool of 50 words. In the 2nd round they had to select a letter from the alphabet except the letters  “X,”  “Y,” &  “Z” as those had limited words. Third round contestants were asked to select from a pool of 50 words once again.

Previously a boy and a girl from Colombo and Kalmunai respectively were eliminated in the preliminary round prior to the grand finale. They were Fathima Rustha (Mahmud Ladies College Kalmunai) and Archana respectively.
