A West Columbia man has been arrested in connection with the stabbing of an 11-year-old boy and the attempted strangling of a 9-year-old boy Sunday.
The alleged assaults took place at a West Columbia home where the man was staying.
Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts identified the suspect as Jason Tremaine Lemmon Sr., 29. He has been charged with two counts of assault and battery with intent to kill and one count of possessing a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
Warrants in the case allege Lemmon placed his hands around the throat of the 9-year-old boy to try to break the boys neck and strangle him, Metts said.
Warrants also allege Lemmon took a knife from the kitchen and used it to stab the 11-year-old boy at least three times in his upper torso, Metts said. The knife broke during the stabbing, he added.
