Former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka has told the BBC that all countries should impose maximum power to influence Sri Lanka. He made this reference joining in BBC’s hard talk programme. It is Anoma Fonseka who had supported Sarath Fonseka to join in this programme. This was confirmed by the interviewer.
The interviewer had queried from Sarath Fonseka on a statement made by him to the Sunday Leader newspaper in September last year. He has again consolidated this statement.
In reply to a query whether he was prepared to give evidence if an inquiry is held on war crimes, Sarath Fonseka said he was prepared to do so without concealing any facts. The interviewer queried from Sarath Fonseka whether he believed that the United Nations or any other organization should exert pressure on the Sri Lankan Government. In reply, Sarath Fonseka said that the entire world should impress upon Sri Lanka.
Sarath Fonseka further said in the interview that the entire world should jointly influence Sri Lanka to move on the right track.
