Authorities have evacuated residents near a South Carolina town after a derailed tanker car spilled rubbing alcohol near a South Carolina town.
Officials told multiple media outlets at least 15 cars derailed near the town of Liberty in Pickens County. They said residents living within a half-mile of the derailment were evacuated as a precaution because the spilled alcohol was a fire danger and fumes from the liquid could be dangerous if inhaled.
Authorities say the cause of the accident is still under investigation. No injuries were reported.
