Sri Lanka Cricket national curator, Anurudha Polonnowita predicts a pitch ideally suited to ODI Cricket will host the inaugural match of the Micromax Asia Cup between Sri Lanka and Pakistan today at RDICS Dambulla.
According to Polonnowita the pitch has a consistent coverage of dead grass rolled in to hold the wicket together. True and consistent bounce will greet the flamboyant batsman of both sides creating possibilities of a run feast today. All remaining moisture of the pitch has evaporated due to the sun and has made the pitch hard.
All matches in the Asia Cup will be played at RDICS Dambulla and 4 pitches will be used in the duration of the tournament.
