The Prime Minister has pointed out that the government has launched a number of programmes for the Sri Lankans to stand up together as one nation.
The Prime Minister said that the government expects to create a better society by promoting spirituality amongst the people. He said that during the Sambuddha Jayanthi period programmes will be launched to create conditions, that will preserve the nation for thousands of years to come.
He expressed these views after inaugurating a two storey Dharmasala at the Abhinawarama temple in Nildandahinna, Walapane. The elimination of terrorism has created an environment where all communities could live in harmony. The government has also created opportunities for the people to achieve economic success under the Mahinda Chinthana programme. The Prime Minister also noted that a number of programmes are underway to strengthen the bonds between various communities and religions. Members of the Mahasangha, Ministers and Parliamentarians were amongst those who participated in the occasion.
