Sri Lanka has earned a 10 percent development in the export sector during the past four months.
Chairman of the Export Development Board Janaka Ratnayaka has said that the export earnings have increased by 9.83% equivalent to 2.3 million US dollars from January to April. Two million US dollars were recorded in the corresponding period last year. Export earnings from agricultural products has been increased by 35% and industrial products by 1.79 % . He said that this may be due to the world economic crisis. Since the world is on a recovery path export earnings are expected to surpass the 8 million dollar mark by the end of this year.
