Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has informed the Tamilnadu State government, he is confident that the Sri Lankan Tamil people would have a prosperous future.
In response to a letter directed by the Chief Minister of Tamilnadu state Karunanidhi, the Indian Prime Minister has stressed that fulfilling the requirements of the Tamil people is an internal process of Sri Lanka. An environment has been created for the Tamil people to live freely. The issues of the Tamils were discussed during the tour of the Sri Lankan President as well. The expectation of the President is to resettle the 47,000 displaced people who remain in welfare villages before the end of this year. Dr. Manmohan Singh pointed out that reconciliation is being promoted amongst all communities in Sri Lanka and the Tamils would be benefited by the sustainable peace. The Indian Prime Minister has also pointed out that he is highly confident of the process launched by the Sri Lankan government in this connection.
