A woman told Richland County Sheriff's deputies she was shot by someone in another car while she drove down Interstate 20 this morning.
The woman said she was driving west near I-77 around 11 a.m. when a white car pulled up beside her and someone inside shot at her.
A bullet hit the victim on the lower body, deputy and sheriff's department spokeswoman Monique Mack said. The woman, who remains unidentified, was taken to Palmetto Health Richland. The wound is thought to be non-life-threatening.
The woman might have been acquainted with the shooter and the incident was not a random act, but an investigation is still under way, Mack said.Vicinity of I-20 and I-77
