The Central Bank of Sri Lanka has said that the expected rate of economic growth during the year is seven percent.
Earlier it was forecast at 6.5 percent. Governor of the Central Bank Ajith Nivard Cabral said this rate can be further increased according to the latest forecasts. Economic expectations have improved due to the brisk economic activity in the country. The Central Bank Governor observed that the economic growth rate may therefore surge up to seven percent under these circumstances.
