Surveillance cameras offer clues in homicide

Surveillance cameras captured images of a man Richland County authorities say is connected to a June 19 murder.
Richland County Sheriff's detectives say the suspect was a passenger in a light-colored four-door Chevrolet Impala and targeted the victim for robbery.
Around 12:30 a.m., deputies responding to a call about a body found Gerald "Apple Jack" McDaniels, 63, at the U-Stor storage business at 3415 Two Notch Road. McDaniels had been shot multiple times and was dead when the officers arrived.
A man with a slim build can be seen in surveillance video at the facility, a man who arrived on the scene moments after the victim. Video shows the suspect walking from the car toward the area where the victim was attacked. The suspect partially covered his face but some features are visible.
