A clerk locking up a Columbia cash loan business was assaulted and the store robbed Wednesday evening.
The clerk at Cash Express, 1907-D Carmack Blvd., told Columbia Police Department investigators two men rushed her from behind around 6 p.m.
The clerk said then men assaulted her and took a bag of cash from her, then ran behind the store to a vehicle in which two other men were waiting for them.
Police stopped that vehicle and arrested four men, each charged with robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery. The clerk was treated by emergency responders at the scene and did not require hospitalization, the department said.
