Deputy Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya has pointed out that the Government had already identified its responsibility to moulding a strong generation on behalf of the country’s future.
The Deputy Minister said that the nutritional programme mooted through the Samurdhi Movement, providing nutritional packs, is aimed at helping expectant mothers to give birth to a healthy child. He pointed out that this is another pledge annunciated in the “Mahinda Chintana”. The Deputy Minister added that the Mahinda Chintana is a strategy which has identified the welfare of the people.
The Deputy Minister was speaking at a ceremony organized to provide nutritional packs on behalf of expectant mothers in the Kegalla district. About 2300 expectant mothers in the district received these packs. The Samurdhi Developemnt Authority provided funds for this purpose.
