Swiss Food Festival At MLH

Leaving the mountains, lakes and valleys where they are, Chef Siegler Serge and Fery Stockbauer brings the best of Switzerland to Sri Lanka to celebrate the founding day of the confederation.
Mount Lavinia Hotel will begin a week long celebration particularly the day dedicated to the founding of the confederation, from July 26 to August 1.
After last year’s success, the Mount Lavinia Hotel relaunched the Swiss Food Festival, this time featuring master chefs from Switzerland. Master Chef Siegler Serge has experience at the Beau Rivage, Chalet Du Lac and Hotel De La Paix in Lausanne. Certified Master Chef Fery StockBauer who is the Executive Chef at the Swiss Culinary School in Montreaux whose experience lies at the Hotel Ma Vallee Nax in Switzerland and Sheraton Hotels across Europe brings the best of Switzerland to Sri Lanka.
Chef Siege and Fery have artfully shaped an authentic menu inspired by the regions, using the freshest and finest of Swiss produce. Festival guests can sample dishes like Papet Vaudois, Omble Chevalier in white wine sauce on fennel, Malakoff, Fricassee de Porc genevoise and Tarte au Vin blanc along with other classic dishes from the beautiful Romandie region.
Siegler will also prepare the traditional dishes of Raclette (melted cheese) and Swiss Cheese Fondue menu to satisfy everyone’s cheese cravings. And where would a Swiss Festival be without chocolate? To cater to this necessity, guests will be treated to a Swiss Chocolate Fondue and many more desserts that are synonymous to Switzerland.
A Swiss menu will be available during lunch starting from LKR300 to LKR2500 per person. A Swiss Dinner Buffet for LKR2000/+++. A selection of fondues (both cheese and chocolate) for both lunch and dinner will cost LKR1500 per person. The Slow Food Dinner with food and beverage on 31st July will be LKR2500 per person.
“Enjoy Swiss Fondues, and an array of authentic Swiss delicacies to celebrate Swissness is this month’s master plan,” states General Manager, Mount Lavinia Hotel, Anura Dewapura.
He further adds, “as Switzerland truly means a cornucopia of foods and beverages that are celebrated with gusto, we are endorsing this by adding a bit of Mount Lavinia Hotel’s spirit to create a unique festival. ”
This year the Swiss Food Festival will be a unique food experience, where guests will ‘dine beneath the stars’ and taste quality wine made by the best Swiss wine makers. Like the Suisse Romands would say, “Ca cést la belle vie!”

Country And Jazz Brunch
Popular music based on the folk style of the southern rural United States or on the music of cowboys in the American West: country and jazz music will be on focus on 4th July when Mount Lavinia Hotel celebrates Uncle Sam’s Independence Day by paying homage to USA’s original art form, both past and present, along with a great and grand American style brunch.

The Country and Jazz Sunday Brunch will offer a spread that is synonymous to the Sunday Brunch in the USA. Iced Seafood if you are into oysters, fresh prawns, a caesar salad bar with creative salads, good ole Apple Pie, Hickory Smoked Prime Ribs, Sushi Bar, Crab Bar, BBQ Ribs, Ceviche Bar, Roast Tom Turkey, New York Cheese Cake are just a few to tempt your taste buds.
In partnership with the German Cultural Institute in Sri Lanka Art Critics Orchestra from Germany will liven the Terrace on 9th and 10th July. The Country and Jazz Sunday Brunch will be only on the 4th of July to honour Independence Day from 11am noon till 3pm and cost LKR2600 per person which includes Food and Beverage. Art Critics Orchestra amidst German food and beverage will take place on 9th and 10th July at the Terrace and cost LKR2000 per person.
