2010 CIMA Business Leaders Summit

Jun 26, 2010 3:09:39 PM - thesundayleader.lk

The CIMA Business Leaders Summit 2010 will take place at the Cinnamon Grand Colombo on July 28 and 29. The two-day flagship event in the CIMA calendar is expected to attract over 400 diverse groups of corporates, business leaders and professionals.
Given the opportunities available with the end of the war the focus of the summit has been appropriately fixed on the theme “Re-imagine; Recreate”.  The global business dynamics compels business in Sri Lanka to continuously re-imagine the challenges to survive and recreate the business model. The end of the war has no doubt opened doors but to a completely different business equilibrium that existed when the doors closed 30 year ago.
Chairman, Board of Investment of Sri Lanka, Jayampathy Bandaranayake, will deliver the Pitch Report which will set the trend for the rest of the presentations. He would cover the opportunities for Sri Lanka towards achieving growth in the areas of key influencing factors of our GDP; FDI, tourism, exports and so on.
Papers at the technical sessions will be presented by Ms Sandie Dawe, CEO of VisitBritain, UK,
David Taylor, world acclaimed business management and motivational author / Honorary Professor of Leadership, Warwick University Business School, UK, Reg Athwal, Founder of RAW Group LLC and Co-Founder and Chairman of OneTVO, Business Advisor and World-Renowned Speaker, Dubai, Ray Perry, Executive Director – Brand, CIMA UK, Ajit Gunewardene, Deputy Chairman, John Keells Holdings and Mahesh Amalean, Chairman, MAS Holdings.
Ms Sandie Dawe, CEO of VisitBritain, UK, will speak on Re-imagine and re-create Sri Lanka’s Tourism Brand and the world trend in tourism, which is moving to experiential travel.  Britain has fast adapted to the trend and recreated the offer to the changing needs of the inbound traveller.  The paper will cover the strategies Britain tourism used to re-create its travel brand.
David Taylor, World acclaimed business management and motivational author / Honorary Professor of Leadership, Warwick University Business School, UK will address the audience on It’s your future: take or lead it and leading by the rule or through is a paradigm of the mast.  Leading emotionally and based on information is the paradigm of the future. Leading no more top down function but across functional function. Leaders who thrive are those who recreate them to fit the role in the new paradigm – leading with emotional intelligence.
Reg Athwal, Founder of RAW Group LLC and Co-Founder & Chairman of OneTVO, Business Advisor and World-Renowned Speaker, Dubai, would speak on Re-Create Your Mind DNA. Great leadership starts with great people. Great people produce great results. Great results are produced in our ‘Mind DNA’ before they manifest into reality via great people. Is the image in your mind crystal clear on where you want your business to be in the future? Are you creating new breakthrough products, services and business models or simply repackaging the same old thinking?  Re-creating your future is too important to leave to random chance. There is a successful proven DNA formula that can influence the talent and culture in your company to produce remarkable results, which Reg Athwal will present in this fast-paced keynote session. You’ll also get an insight into ‘The DNA Model’ that will transform how you create, develop, launch, build and grow future business ideas.
