India’s Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Nirmal Verma is due to arrive in Colombo todfay.
He will be in Sri Lanka for five days. The Indian daily The Hindu reported that the Indian Navy chief is scheduled to hold discussions with his Sri Lankan counterpart Vice Admiral Thisara Samarasinghe and exchange of views.
Admiral Verma will travel to the Eastern and Northern provinces. He is also scheduled to travel to the Kankasanthurai Harbour in Jaffna Peninsula. The Naval chief will be the chief guest at the passing out parade of the Sri Lanka Naval Academy in Trincomalee.
Admiral Verma, whose career spans nearly four decades, is the senior-most Indian military official to visit the island nation in the last five years.
