Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Chief Minister of Madya Pradesh, has described Sri Lanka as a beautiful country. He said it would have been fortunate if he had the opportunity of settling down in the island.
Mr. Chauhan aired these views, joining in the laying of a foundation stone for the Indo-Lanka Cultural Centre. He said the construction of Centre will further cement Indo-Sri Lanka relations and will also give a fillip to religious tourism. The Cultural Centre is being built at the Divurampola Purana Vihare at Welimada. It will cost 30 million rupees. Minister Dinesh Gunawardena and Uva Chief Minister Shaheendra Rajapaksa were present on the occasion.
