The South Carolina State Park Service now offers a Park Passport Plus, aimed at making frequent visits to the parks more affordable.
The park services Park Passport, which has been available for years, grants free admission to the 33 state parks for one passenger vehicle. The Park Passport Plus, for $49 more, provides free home tours at Redcliffe, Rose Hill and Hampton plantations and free admission to the Atalaya castle and the Atalaya Arts and Crafts Festival at Huntington Beach, the lighthouse at Hunting Island, the swimming areas at Paris Mountain, Oconee and Table Rock and selected park programs.
Passport Plus buyers also get a $10 gift card for use on park reservations and a copy of the book Beautiful Places, the Timeless Beauty of South Carolina State Parks.
The passports are available at state parks or by calling (803) 734-0156. In July, the passports will be available online at southcarolinaparks.com.
