Early last year, RJ Rockers Brewing Co. in Spartanburg came up with the idea to craft a beer made with the official state fruit of South Carolina.
The result? Just peachy.
“We’re selling the dickens out of it,” said Mark Johnsen, Rockers’ founder, president and head brewer. “It’s by far our biggest seller.”
In just its second year as a spring/summer seasonal, Son of a Peach Wheat Ale already accounts for 40 percent of the brewery’s total sales.
