Boat inspections planned during holiday weekend

The S.C. Department of Natural Resources will provide courtesy safety inspections at public boat landings during the busy July Fourth holiday weekend.
Officers will perform quick inspections, making sure required safety equipment is on board and boat and motor registrations are up to date. Boat owners who arent in compliance will not be ticketed during inspections but will have to correct the problems before launching.
In the Midlands, inspections are planned at Clearwater Cove Landing on Lake Wateree from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday and Monday, at Buckhill Landing on Lake Wateree from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday and at the Rosewood Landing on the Congaree River from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Inspections also will be offered Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Irmo side of the Lake Murray dam, at Billy Dreher Island on Lake Murray and at Spinners Marina on Lake Murray.
