Gamecock fans looking to sport the National Championship shirts and hats when the S.C. baseball team arrives in Columbia this afternoon are out of luck.
The T-shirts and hats worn by the players on the field Tuesday night after the Gamecocks won USCs first major national championship are being printed today in California and will arrive in Columbia Thursday, Jewelry Warehouse collegiate buyer Kevin Lucas said.
Lucas said the store pre-ordered 2,600 T-shirts and 1,500 hats from a company in California, if the Gamecocks won. The company started printing this morning after the teams extra-innings 2-1 win over UCLA close to midnight.
Columbia T-shirt supplier Eat More Tees is producing a Gamecock Spirit Stick T-shirt that could be ready in time for the celebration set for 4:45 p.m. at Carolina Stadium.
Sporting goods retailer Todd & Moore has been overwhelmed with calls from customers this morning and was expecting that T-shirt in between 1 and 2 p.m. today at the Gervais Street store.
