The Economic Development Ministry has pointed out that more than 33 Billion Rupees has been allocated for the development of the country through foreign aided projects.
These funds have been allocated for regional development projects. This information came to light at the progress review of the projects. Development projects have been launched throughout the country including the North and East. A notable feature is the launch of eight large scale programmes. Many international financial institutions have extended assistance in this connection.
3361 kilometers of roads and 104 bridges have been constructed throughout the country incurring an expenditure of 1915 million rupees. 43,091 houses have been built in the North and East. The cost incurred was 12, 151 million rupees.
