A concessionary housing loan scheme has been unveiled for civilians displaced due to terrorist activities.
The aim of the effort is to help the civilians of the North build their houses with concessionary loans. Reconstruction of the National Housing Development Authority office building which was destroyed recently commenced in Kilinochchi. The National Machinery Unit which is affiliated to the Housing Development Authority is handling the construction. Initially a sum of 325,000 rupees each is being given to 50 selected families to build their houses.
Chairman of the National Housing Development Authority Jayantha Samaraweera said that the total expenditure to be incurred on the granting of loans will be 16.25 million rupees.
