The Parliamentarians and Ministers have stressed that the Government is ready to defeat all local and foreign conspiracies and steer the country towards development.
They expressed these views while participating in the final debate after the second reading of the Budget. Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva said more funds have been allocated for Health and Education sectors. The finances allocated for development have not been reduced. He said that a massive programme is also underway to provide concessions to the masses. Minister C.B. Ratnayake said that this Budget which is based on development work provides a foundation for next year’s Budget. He said that priority has been given to the development of Tourism industry, other local industries and improvement of common amenities and infrastructure.
