Two people in the Midlands and a third from Aiken County were killed in weekend traffic accidents, the South Carolina Highway Patrol reported Sunday.
Ulysesse Lykes was killed around 6:30 p.m Saturday when he was traveling eastbound on Calvary Church Road in Lexington County. The patrol said that Lykes was a little more than seven miles east of Swansea when his car ran off the left side of the roadway and flipped several times.
Lykes, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle.
Around 9 a.m. Friday, a pedestrian was killed on Monticello Road near Walton Road in Richland County after being hit by a motorcycle driven by 23-year-old Floyd Bouknight. Investigators say that Bouknight was traveling north on Monticello when Utamu Obaji Mfume, who was traveling west, entered the roadway and was struck by Bouknights motorcycle.
Bouknight was not injured in the accident.
