SC adjutant general candidate stops Guard work

The man likely to be the state's next adjutant general says his electric company will stop doing work for the South Carolina National Guard.
Documents obtained by the Herald-Journal of Spartanburg found the National Guard paid Gen. Bob Livingston's company more than $233,000 for work from August 2004 to February 2010.
The newspaper found most of the work done by Livingston's Gregory Electric Co. was for general repairs and maintenance.
Livingston broke no law and his company could continue the work if it wins competitive bids, but a spokesman for Livingston says he doesn't want any appearance of impropriety.
Livingston is the Republican nominee for adjutant general and has no Democratic opposition to become the commander of the state's National Guard.
