Minister Maithripala Sirisena has underlined that local bodies should be directly involved in combating Dengue.
The Minister said the main task is vested with the Local Government Bodies. They should advert more attention to maintaining cleanliness. He said if any local body does not discharge its responsibility the Central Environment Authority is tasked with the power of instituting legal action.
The Health Minister was speaking at the second review meeting of the Dengue Control Task Force. Several Parliamentarians, Provincial Health Ministers and Provincial Health Directors were among those present.
