South Korea and Israel have pledged support for the development of the agricultural sector.
The pledge was given during a meeting attended by representatives of the two countries. South Korean Ambassador Dr. Choi Ki Chul and the Political Affairs Officer of the Israeli Embassy in Colombo Ite Takner had a meeting with Minister Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena at the Agricultural Ministry. Expressing views to the media after their meeting, the Minister said that the Korean Diplomat gave an assurance to introduce new Korean technology related to agriculture. He assured to send their expertise to Sri Lanka and impart technology for the production of seed potatoes. The Israeli representative informed his readiness to provide technology for the improvement of agriculture as well as irrigation.
