Today is the ninth day of budget debate in Parliament. 20 thousand school children visit the Parliamentary Complex.
Nearly 5000 students visited Parliament today. Sources emanating from Parliament said that 5500 school children are due to visit the Complex tomorrow. The same sources said that this is the first time that such a large number of school children had visited the Complex to witness the budget debate. A notable feature was the presence of children from schools in Jaffna. The students said that the visit enabled them a gain wide experience which would be much beneficial for their school studies.
Teachers are upbeat that the children are now able to visit the Parliamentary complex following the peaceful environment created in the country with the total elimination of terrorism. The visit is also a blessing for the education of the children. They said it is also a novel experience in their life.
In the meantime, Nestle Pvt. Ltd. took the initiative of serving the children with a glass of milk free of charge.
