A Regional Consultation on Tourism Potential in South Asia was staged in Colombo yesterday.
It was jointly organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industries of Sri Lanka and the SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The meeting discussed initiatives that should be taken for the promotion of the tourism industry in the regional countries. Participants presented programmes mooted by their respective governments for the upliftment of the Tourism Industry. They also drew their attention to issues that should be directed to the SAARC Tourism meeting that is scheduled to be staged next year. South Asian representatives engaged in the tourism and commerce industries joined in this meeting.
