The UN has not decided to close down any of their offices in Sri Lanka. National Information Officer of the UN office in Colombo, Mohan Samaranayake said all UN offices in Sri Lanka were functioning as usual.
He said the UNDP office which is located at Independence Square has been relocated in Bangkok. This measure had been taken based on a decision made earlier in the year.
All UN Offices in Sri Lanka are functioning. There are 16 offices within the UN network in the island. Mr. Samaranayake emphasized that all the offices are functioning as usual.
