68 more rehabilitated ex-combatants handed over to parents

68 more LTTE ex-combatants who were rehabilitated have been handed over to their parents. The ceremony in this respect was organized at the rehabilitation centre at Punthottam in Vavuniya.

The release of the rehabilitated LTTE cadres took place on the sidelines of the mobile service organized in Jaffna, Kilinochchi and Vavuniya. Over 600 civilians benefited by this mobile service. In addition, 100 thousand rupees each was given to 17 thousand persons who suffered property damage by the war. The mobile service was launched by the Ministry of Rehabilitation and Prison Reforms and the Resettlement Ministry. Minister Milroy Fernando and Deputy Minister Vijith Vijithamuni Soysa were among those present.
